15 CURIOUS FACTS ABOUT TIRES
-The contact surface between the road surface and the tire of a normal size for a passenger car is the size of a postcard. This means that the contact spot is no larger than A4 paper.
- Initially, the tires were produced white, but after the addition of black carbon (soot) it changed its color to black and this contributed to greater durability.
-20% underinflated tire leads to 50% reduction in mileage and impairment of its characteristics, increasing braking distance and stability of the car in turns.
-Rubber does not have an expiration date like a bottle of milk or a banana. If stored properly they can last more than 10 years without significantly changing their qualities. The tire ages mostly as a result of wear and tear from use and direct sunlight. Tires should be stored in a dry, cool and clean place away from UV light.
